Devon started playing guitar at age 9 when the Beatles hit the charts in the US. Initially inspired to learn the guitar by pop artists like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones, Devon later discovered the blues based rock style of guitar players like Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, and Ritchie Blackmore. By The Mid 1970s Devon developed a taste for more progressive styles of music and began studying classical and jazz, as well guitarists like Steve Howe, John Mclaughlin, and Al Dimeola. Devon began playing night clubs throughout the southwest US at age 19 and worked on an unreleased track with Michael Curtis the keyboard player for Crazy Horse. By the late 1970s Devon was playing with one of the top Orange County Ca, pop rock dance bands (The Rude); The Rude won 1rst place in the Jezebels Night Club 3 day battle of the bands. Devon has opened for name acts such as The Chambers Brothers, Steppenwolf and Survivor.
