“An amazing resemblance and strong singing.”
Mike Weatherford – LAS VEGAS REVIEW JOURNAL
Ron Keel will debut his new project, COWBOY BAND, with two performances in Las Vegas on December 1st to kick off National Finals Rodeo. Keel stars as Ronnie Dunn (Brooks & Dunn) in the long running hit show “Country Superstars Tribute,” currently at the Golden Nugget, and is also an established national act with four million albums sales as lead vocalist of KEEL and as a solo artist.
COWBOY BAND promises to combine the Ronnie Dunn tribute with the real Keel – during the course of the show, the singer will switch personas vocally and visually to offer audiences the best of both worlds. The material consists of all the popular Brooks & Dunn classics (“My Maria,” “Boot Scootin’ Boogie,” “Neon Moon” etc.); hit songs from Ronnie Dunn’s #1 solo album like “Bleed Red,” Song Of The Year Nominee “Cost Of Livin’” and the signature opening song “Singer In A Cowboy Band.” During the opening segment and during the wardrobe change, Keel’s band delivers the hottest current country hits, and upon Ron’s return they mix it up with original material from his solo career and former bands The Rat’lers and IronHorse as well as country and southern rock classics, a blend Keel refers to as “reckless redneck rock & roll.”
The new project will perform for the first time as a showcase artist in the popular “Toast Of The Town” variety show in the Sam’s Town Live! showroom on Thursday December 1 at 2:00 PM. That evening, COWBOY BAND begins their 10-day run during National Finals Rodeo in Roxy’s Buckin’ Bull Honky Tonk (renamed for this event) inside Sam’s Town.
Keel’s portrayal of Ronnie Dunn both as a solo act and as one half of Brooks & Dunn will remain a staple of “Country Superstars Tribute” at the Golden Nugget, which features a rotating cast of the best country tribute artists in the business.

He introduced National Recording Artist, Mega Rockstar and headliner of the Country Superstars show as Ronnie Dunn, Ron Keel. Ron performed songs from Ronnie Dunn's new solo CD, Brooks and Dunn classics, as well as a few Keel originals which brought to crowd to their feet.
All of the Voodoo Cowboys including Dezmond and Ron Keel took the stage for a thunderous grand finale.

Phil G and Scott Woodward of the Voodoo Cowboys headed out to Whiskey Pete's in Primm, NV this past Saturday night to support their friend Ron Keel's (of the rock band Keel and Sin City Southern) final performance in the Country Superstars Show... what happened next was pretty amazing! At the after party, Phil and Scott were called up to the stage to play with Ron and the Country Superstars Band and do what they do best. To the roar of a great audience and an impromptu gathering of line dancers, Phil and Scott rocked out with Fast As You and played a special performance of the song T-R-O-U-B-L-E with Phil and Ron Keel singing together and Scott providing the usual great harmonies.
It just goes to show that even an impromptu couple of songs turns into a rockin performance by the founding members of the Voodoo Cowboys!
