Hi all, Phil G. here with some sad musical news to report. After 20 years together as a multiple award winning duo, Brooks & Dunn have announced that they are splitting up. This is a real bummer for me as Brooks & Dunn have been one of my favorite artists to come onto the country scene. Not a lot of folks know that they first got together in 1988 but they've been huge hit makers ever since. With hits like Brand New Man, Boot Scootin Boogie, (favorite song of the Voodoo Cowboys own Scott Woodward!), Neon Moon and many others these two country power houses really gave me a lot of inspiration in my own career. You can even hear the Voodoo Cowboys performing a few of Brooks & Dunn's greatest hits. It's always a bummer to hear about a good group, duo or artist breaking up but the good thing is that we will always have the hits that they leave behind. You can catch Brooks & Dunn in concert one last time next year... the last one for these guys as a duo. I'm thinking reunion tours to come in the future?? Who knows but either way, Brooks & Dunn will always remain a favorite of mine! To Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn... thanks for the hits! See ya'll later
What's up ya'll? Phil G. here and since it's been a while since I've blogged anything, I thought it would be nice to post a little something.
One thing that I like talking to people about is the gear that we use. Over the years I've been lucky enough to share the stage with some pretty big names in music so I've gotten to use all kinds of equipment from low level to high end. Of course, you always want to have the best equipment possible but you can only use what you can afford right? Well the good thing is that there are a lot of companies out there who make top quality equipment at relatively low prices.
For me, Shure Microphones are the way to go for superior vocal quality. You just can't beat Shure's quality and price. For about $50 you can get the sm58 microphone. This microphone has been the mainstay for many artists both on stage as well as in the studio. Not only do you get crystal clear vocals but you get durability as well. I've been using the sm58 for years and even though there are other, more expensive microphones out there, you just can't beat the sm58. Whether you're just starting out or you've been playing for years, the sm58 is the right microphone for the job with an inexpensive price tag and a durability that will last you for years. For more info, you can check out www.shure.com.
Don't forget to check out www.youtube.com for more equipment reviews and whenever you watch a video we ask that you please leave a comment and... RATE! RATE! RATE! See ya'll later!
